LAS VEGAS- Two unsuspecting Metro Police officers were approached and gunned down while on a lunch break June 8th at around 11:22 am in the early afternoon.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, upon entering the Walmart, the male suspect was unknowingly shadowed by Joesph Wilcox, who was a licensed concealed weapons permit holder. Unknown to Wilcox as he paced the male suspect was that the female suspect was pacing him while pushing a shopping cart.
After the shooting, the couple headed toward a nearby Wal-Mart, where Jerad Miller was confronted by Joseph Robert Wilcox, 31, of Las Vegas. Wilcox was legally carrying a concealed pistol. Wilcox was unaware that Amanda Miller, who was pushing a shopping cart, was involved in the incident and “lying in wait,” the official said.

She slipped behind Wilcox and shot him at close range.“He had no idea the wife was walking behind him,” the police official said of the murdered man. “This guy (Wilcox) was not some idiot with a gun. To me, he was a hero. He was trying to stop an active shooter.”It wasn't immediately clear if Wilcox fired a shot, or if he hit Jerad Miller before he died.

He is the concealed carry holder that sacrificed his life in an attempt to stop the slaughter of others at the Wal-Mart in Las Vegas.
We would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of Mr. Wilcox and the officers who were taken from us.We would like to tell you about Joseph Wilcox, the truth, as told directly to me by his brother.
Joe and his friend were returning a modem to the Las Vegas Wal-Mart when the killers came in. The male suspect came in, fired a shot in the air, yelling "this is a revolution, everyone get out".
As the male suspect proceeded through to the back of the store, Joe had followed him with his weapon trying to get a clear shot. He was unaware that the female suspect (who had been pushing a cart through the store with her gun hidden in a shopping bag) was an accomplice and had also been following him.
While Joe was bravely targeting the killer, trying to put his massacre to an end, she came up from behind him like a coward and shot him in the back.
A fund is being set up for Joe's final expenses. We want to thank Joe for being one of our followers and supporters, and we are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss.
