Unknown Victim Of Cookout Robbery Open Fires On Suspects 1 Dead

PEOPLE SCATTER AS COOKOUT ROBBERY BECOMES SHOOTOUT

CANTON, MISS. -  An outdoor cookout turned violent on July 20th when four men attempted to rob a group of people participating in a BBQ in Canton.  During the robbery attempt, a would be victim pulled a firearm and open fired hitting two different suspects and causing everyone to scatter in fear.  Three men were found and charged with armed robbery.

The decomposing body of the fourth suspect was found a few days later by a home owner while checking the property.  The Madison County Coroner has confirmed the ID of the corpse as Nicholas Nichols, who died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

The identification of the victim shooter is not known and still under investigation.
