Just before midnight a group of armed men stormed a Phillips 66 truck stop convenience store wearing hoodies and masks in Northeast Houston. In a fight for life, the clerk bravely shot it out with the attackers and since this was not the first attempt, most likely felt targeted.

Back in March, another suspect had exchanged gun fire with an employee, and was later found and arrested. Although in this shooting the clerk was up against several assailants

In this incident the suspects vehicle was found abandoned a few blocks away. Video footage is being reviewed, no arrests have been made, and the clerk did not survive the encounter.

My heart goes out to the clerks family, I hope they are as proud as I am in his actions. I would rather have a fighting chance to live, than to be an unarmed sitting duck any day.
