Miami Dade Police Fire 377 Rounds As Suspect In Car Gives Up

Killing For Revenge Is Murder
Even Unarmed Criminals
"The nature of the shooting suggests the officers lost sight of their own training and that the officers, caught up in the heat of the moment, failed to listen to their radios or coordinate their actions endangering not only their own lives but the lives of the public."

Back on  December 10th, two men that were trapped inside a pinned Volvo were killed.  Earlier that night, the driver of the Volvo, Adrian Montesano, robbed a Walgreen's at gunpoint, and then later shot Miami Dade Police Officer Saul Rodriguez in a nearby trailer park.  To flee the area he drove off in the slain officer's patrol car and drove to his grandmother's house.  There he switched vehicles and took her blue Volvo.  Police didn't realize once the car was found, that there was a second man in the car – Corsini Valdes – who had committed no crime.  It was realized after they finished turning  the Volvo into Swiss cheese.

Once the chase came to a stop, the car was wedged helplessly between a light pole and a tree, trapping the two men inside.  In what most likely seemed like forever but was actually about a minute, the officers let loose the first volley of lead into the pinned Volvo.
Now here is where it gets interesting.

According to witnesses of the event, police yelled for the suspects to show their hands.  At this point one would think the Suspects were possibly wounded and in shock.  Adrian Montesano upon hearing to raise his hands did so, and when the officers saw the movement they again open fired unleashing at least 377 rounds from 23 officers.  Bullets were sprayed everywhere. They hit the Volvo, other cars in the lot, fence posts and neighboring businesses.  both men inside the Volvo were unarmed at the time police caught up with them. All of the gunfire came from police.

It has been reported that two Miami police officers sustained ruptured ear drums from the cacophony of shots unloaded on the car.  Two others were hit from the crossfire, that turned the blue Volvo into what looked like a spaghetti strainer.  One officer was shot in the arm and the second was hit in the arm and grazed in the head. If the bullet had struck just a half an inch to the side the officer would have been killed by friendly fire.

The way it seems to me, the officers lost sight of their own training and that the officers, caught up in the heat of the moment, failed to listen to their radios or coordinate their actions endangering not only their own lives but the lives of the public.

Anthony Vandiver, a witness stated “They were saying put your hands up, and the guys were still moving after they shot maybe 50, 60 times,” Vandiver recalled. “And the guy tried to put his hands up. And as soon as he put his hands up, it erupted again. And that was it for them. That guy tried his best to give up.”

it also looks like the officers enjoyed executing the unarmed man, and his innocent passenger.  Witnesses are quoted saying-
“The policemen that had on the black and white vests were out there laughing like it was so funny, because they got a free shot off them people. Shooting all them bullets like that, that don’t make no sense.”
