Early Sunday morning a single home invasion suspect, knocked at the door and when the homeowner answered, the suspect slashed at his throat cutting the homeowner in the neck.
The homeowner in fear of his life pulled out his handgun and fired 3 shots at the attacker, finding his mark on all three shots, and hitting the man in the torso.
The suspect fled the scene, and went about 5 miles before stopping his vehicle. He was found by police after crashing into a ditch and he was airlifted to the hospital.
